First time trying Alfajores — completely converted

I had never tried Alfajores before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The intensely beefy and smoky taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. dulce de leche is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a parrilla grill restaurant setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Argentina consumes more beef per capita than almost any other country. My server recommended yerba mate alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Alfajores. Outstanding first encounter.
