Family holiday in South Africa — kids loved it, parents survived

Took the family to South Africa for 14 days and it worked better than I'd hoped. The kids were fascinated by Drakensberg — more than I expected from children who usually resist sightseeing. Food was manageable: even the pickiest eater in our group found things to eat, and Cape Malay curry went down well with everyone.

stunning Cape Winelands kept everyone engaged and gave the trip a memorable high point. car hire essential outside cities was the main practical difficulty but nothing that ruined anything. Would absolutely return with them.
