Solo trip to Portugal: everything you need to know

Did 12 days solo in Portugal and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Sintra is decent and getting to Cape Sagres independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

fado music was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: some towns still very cash-based. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
