My 18 days exploring Amsterdam and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 18 days in Netherlands and based myself mainly in Amsterdam. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Anne Frank House was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten bitterballen every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was cycling culture is wonderful. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
