Honeymoon in Maldives — Addu Atoll and the countryside delivered everything

We chose Maldives for our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The romantic atmosphere in Addu Atoll at night, the drama of coral reefs, the intimacy of small restaurants serving roshi flatbread — all of it added up to exactly what we were hoping for.

most perfect turquoise water on earth became an unexpected gift — something we stumbled across that felt made for the occasion. We had 8 days and used every one of them well. Some destinations disappoint when the pressure of a special occasion is on them. Maldives didn't.
