Solo trip to Kenya: everything you need to know

Did 17 days solo in Kenya and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Nairobi is decent and getting to Maasai Mara independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

beautiful coastline was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: altitude sickness near Mt. Kenya. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
