My 9 days exploring Florence and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 9 days in Italy and based myself mainly in Florence. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Amalfi Coast was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten tiramisu every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was passionate locals. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
