The food in Indonesia changed how I think about travel

I travel for food more than anything else, and Indonesia shot straight to the top of my culinary travel list. gado-gado alone justified the flight, but that was just the beginning. The variety and quality in Yogyakarta is relentless — I didn't have a single disappointing meal in 20 days.

Prambanan gave context to everything I was tasting. The history and culture feeds into the food in ways you can feel. warm and spiritual culture completed the picture. Already planning a return trip focused entirely on eating my way through a different region.
