Solo trip to Indonesia: everything you need to know

Did 18 days solo in Indonesia and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Flores is decent and getting to Mount Bromo independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

incredible volcanos and diving was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: traffic in Bali tourist areas is terrible. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
