Solo trip to Hungary: everything you need to know

Did 18 days solo in Hungary and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Pécs is decent and getting to Fisherman's Bastion independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

Budapest is spectacularly beautiful was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: language is completely impenetrable. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
