Honest review after 18 days — mostly great, a few gripes

Visited Egypt for 18 days. The positives are real: Great Pyramids of Giza is every bit as impressive as advertised, and the food scene around Alexandria is genuinely excellent — try ta'meya if you haven't. warm winter weather was an unexpected bonus.

That said, persistent tourist touts everywhere. It's not a dealbreaker but worth knowing before you go. I'd still recommend Egypt to most travellers — just manage your expectations on those specific points and you'll have a great time.
