Solo trip to Egypt: everything you need to know

Did 9 days solo in Egypt and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Sharm el-Sheikh is decent and getting to Great Pyramids of Giza independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

incredible diving in Red Sea was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: persistent tourist touts everywhere. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
