My 16 days exploring El Calafate and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 16 days in Argentina and based myself mainly in El Calafate. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Recoleta Cemetery was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten dulce de leche everything every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was European-flavoured culture. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
