My 16 days exploring Tirana and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 16 days in Albania and based myself mainly in Tirana. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Llogara Pass was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten fërgesë every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was stunning unspoilt Riviera beaches. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
