Solo trip to Albania: everything you need to know

Did 20 days solo in Albania and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Gjirokastër is decent and getting to Llogara Pass independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

incredibly cheap was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: some roads are shocking. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
