Honeymoon in Albania — Sarandë and the countryside delivered everything

We chose Albania for our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The romantic atmosphere in Sarandë at night, the drama of Berat old town (City of a Thousand Windows), the intimacy of small restaurants serving sufllaqe — all of it added up to exactly what we were hoping for.

extraordinary warmth toward foreigners became an unexpected gift — something we stumbled across that felt made for the occasion. We had 6 days and used every one of them well. Some destinations disappoint when the pressure of a special occasion is on them. Albania didn't.
