Loves outdoor time in summer

One of the best things about keeping a Russian tortoise is outdoor time in summer. I set up a secure outdoor pen on warm days and she transforms — grazing enthusiastically on clover and dandelions, basking in natural sunlight, and exploring at surprising speed. The UV from real sunlight is irreplaceable. She's noticeably more alert and active after outdoor sessions than after days inside. Weather permitting, outdoor time is enormously beneficial.
