Very tame with regular handling

The key to a tame Syrian hamster is consistent gentle handling from a young age. I spent 15 minutes each evening sitting with my hamster and letting her explore my hands. Within three weeks she was completely relaxed and would fall asleep in my palm. She never bit and always seemed pleased to be out. Very rewarding to tame a hamster — it just takes patience and consistency.
