Pairs are wonderful company for each other

Keeping a same-sex pair of Campbell's dwarf hamsters has been brilliant. They groom each other, sleep in a huddle, and seem genuinely happier together than solitary hamsters I've kept previously. There was one minor scuffle in the first week, but they settled quickly and have been inseparable since. Note: not all dwarf species can be safely paired — do your research on the specific variety.
