Great for adults, not for impatient people

Ball pythons are brilliant pets but require patience. They hide for days at a time (especially after feeding or during shedding), can go weeks without eating, and are most active when you're asleep. If you want a pet you can display constantly, a ball python isn't it. If you enjoy observing secretive, beautiful animals on their own schedule, they're magnificent. I love mine dearly but manage my expectations.
