Feeding strikes can be nerve-wracking

Ball pythons are wonderful but feeding strikes are a real thing. My snake refused food for 14 weeks in winter, which I later learned is common during the cooler months. Once I raised the hot spot temperature and improved humidity, she resumed eating. New keepers need to understand this behaviour is normal and not immediately a veterinary emergency. Do your research — feeding strikes cause unnecessary panic in unprepared owners.
