Great fish, tricky gender balance

My first guppy tank was all males for the first year and it was peaceful. Then I added females and the males went absolutely wild chasing them. Three females were too few for eight males and they got stressed and died. I researched the proper ratio and added more females — problem solved. Lovely fish once you get the balance right, but that part tripped me up early on.
