Cold weather was harder than expected

My Whippet finds cold genuinely uncomfortable. He shivers below ten degrees, refuses heavy rain, and has developed an elaborate protest routine for winter mornings. He needs a coat from October through March. He is a wonderful dog in every other respect but the cold sensitivity is real and requires management in a northern climate.
