Perfect companion for independent people

My Scottie suits my lifestyle perfectly. I am an independent person who finds overly demanding, clingy dogs exhausting. He is devoted but self-sufficient. He does not need constant attention, does not suffer separation anxiety, and is perfectly content in his own company for reasonable periods. He checks in with me regularly and accepts affection warmly but does not demand it. We understand each other perfectly.
