Best trail companion

I do trail running and my Ridgeback has been my ideal partner for eight years. He runs trails beside me with power and sure-footedness, can go for hours without tiring, and seems happiest when covering ground at pace. He has been to mountain ranges across three countries with me and his adaptability in different environments is remarkable. Off trail he is a calm, devoted companion. On trail he is transcendent.
