Remarkable breed

Living with a Ridgeback has changed how I think about dogs. He is not demonstrative in the way Labs and Retrievers are. He shows affection in subtle, meaningful ways. He rests his chin on my knee. He follows at a measured distance. He chooses to be near me rather than demanding interaction. His love is quiet and certain. Learning to read him has been one of the great rewards of dog ownership for me.
