Best farm dog for small game

I have a smallholding and my Jack Russell is indispensable. He has cleared my outbuildings of rats completely and does a daily patrol that keeps the mice population minimal. He works independently and effectively, exactly as the breed was designed. He comes inside in the evenings and is a calm, affectionate companion. The working dog and the house dog coexist seamlessly. A brilliant little terrier.
