Beautiful athlete, late bloomer

My Setter did not properly settle until he was three. The first two and a half years were genuinely challenging. He was exuberant to the point of chaos, easily distracted, and impossible to tire out. Now at four he is still energetic but focused, responsive, and a truly wonderful companion. He is breathtaking to watch run across a field. His coat takes twenty minutes of brushing three times a week. Completely worth the effort.
