The most devoted guardian

My Pyrenees has become the unofficial guardian of our entire street. He knows every resident, acknowledges the regulars, and monitors strangers with quiet attention. He has never bitten or threatened anyone but his size and presence alone are enough to give any would-be troublemaker pause. He is soft and loving with those he knows. I have never felt safer in my home than with him.
