Think very carefully before getting a Golden Retriever — my honest experience

I'm writing this after 6 difficult years. I want to be clear: I don't blame the breed. The Golden Retriever has genuine wonderful qualities — loves to please. But the challenges have been overwhelming for us.

hair everywhere always has been relentless. needs daily grooming was something we were told about but completely underestimated. It has affected our entire family's daily routine.

The health costs have been devastating. skin conditions. We did not have adequate pet insurance and the financial strain has been significant.

One star because I feel the breed community isn't honest enough about the true demands. Some people are absolutely perfect for Golden Retrievers. I was not one of them. Please research thoroughly.
