I want to give an honest review because I think there's a lot of romanticization of the German Shorthaired Pointer breed online. Yes, versatile and athletic. And intelligent and trainable is genuinely lovely.

But here's the reality: extremely high energy. This is not a small thing — it genuinely impacts daily life. destructive if bored also caught me off guard. I've had to rearrange my schedule significantly.

The health considerations are real too. cone degeneration. I've spent more at the vet than I budgeted for.
