Think very carefully before getting a German Shorthaired Pointer — my honest experience

I'm writing this after 3 difficult years. I want to be clear: I don't blame the breed. The German Shorthaired Pointer has genuine wonderful qualities — loves all outdoor activities. But the challenges have been overwhelming for us.

not suited for apartment life has been relentless. destructive if bored was something we were told about but completely underestimated. It has affected our entire family's daily routine.

The health costs have been devastating. cone degeneration. We did not have adequate pet insurance and the financial strain has been significant.

One star because I feel the breed community isn't honest enough about the true demands. Some people are absolutely perfect for German Shorthaired Pointers. I was not one of them. Please research thoroughly.
