I want to give an honest review because I think there's a lot of romanticization of the German Shepherd breed online. Yes, thrives with a job. And incredibly smart is genuinely lovely.

But here's the reality: can be aloof with strangers. This is not a small thing — it genuinely impacts daily life. heavy shedding year-round also caught me off guard. I've had to rearrange my schedule significantly.

The health considerations are real too. degenerative myelopathy. I've spent more at the vet than I budgeted for.
