Beautiful but overwhelming

I got my Cane Corso thinking my previous dog experience with large breeds would translate. It did not fully. He tested my authority constantly for the first eighteen months and a professional trainer was essential. He is now reliable but it required more work than I anticipated. He is a wonderful dog but the combination of size, power, and dominant temperament means this breed demands genuine expertise. Be honest with yourself about your experience level.
