More challenging than expected

The stubbornness of this breed cannot be overstated. My Bloodhound is not trainable in the traditional sense. He will sit and stay when he feels like it and ignore me completely when he does not. I have made peace with this because his personality is so wonderful that I do not really mind. But if you want a responsive, biddable companion you may want to look at another breed. If you want a lovable, funny, soulful character you will love a Bloodhound.
