Natural with children

My Aussie seems to have an innate understanding of children — how to move around them, when to be gentle, how to play without overwhelming small kids. Our three-year-old and the dog are inseparable. She moderates herself around him without training, which has impressed me. Apparently this gentle instinct with dependents is related to the herding temperament.
