The York Chocolate is a rare American breed developed in the 1980s in New York state from a natural litter of chocolate-coloured kittens. With their rich chocolate or chocolate and white semi-long coat and affectionate, playful temperament, York Chocolates are charming and devoted companions. The breed remains very rare and is not formally recognised by all major cat registries.
