Think very carefully before getting a Ragdoll — my honest experience

I'm writing this after 4 difficult years. I want to be clear: I don't blame the breed. The Ragdoll has genuine wonderful qualities — perfect indoor companion. But the challenges have been overwhelming for us.

no street smarts — indoor only has been relentless. expensive breed was something we were told about but completely underestimated. It has affected our entire family's daily routine.

The health costs have been devastating. hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. We did not have adequate pet insurance and the financial strain has been significant.

One star because I feel the breed community isn't honest enough about the true demands. Some people are absolutely perfect for Ragdolls. I was not one of them. Please research thoroughly.
