Less demonstrative than I wanted

My Chartreux loves me, I'm sure of it — she follows me around and sleeps near me every night. But she rarely seeks out extended physical contact or purrs loudly. She loves quietly, in her own understated way. For someone who wanted a cuddly, demonstrative cat, I had to adjust my expectations. For someone who respects feline independence, perfect.
