Think very carefully before getting a British Shorthair — my honest experience

I'm writing this after 2 difficult years. I want to be clear: I don't blame the breed. The British Shorthair has genuine wonderful qualities — beautiful teddy bear looks. But the challenges have been overwhelming for us.

not a lap cat typically has been relentless. obesity prone was something we were told about but completely underestimated. It has affected our entire family's daily routine.

The health costs have been devastating. hemophilia B. We did not have adequate pet insurance and the financial strain has been significant.

One star because I feel the breed community isn't honest enough about the true demands. Some people are absolutely perfect for British Shorthairs. I was not one of them. Please research thoroughly.
