Calm with children

My British Longhair is patient and gentle with my children. She is not a playful, interactive cat but she tolerates their attention with dignified calm and seeks them out occasionally for gentle contact. She has never scratched or bitten despite some handling that pushed her patience. She signals clearly when she has had enough and retreats. Teaching my children to respect those signals has been a valuable lesson.
