Less interactive than I hoped

I wanted a relatively low-maintenance cat that would still engage with me. My British Longhair is perhaps more reserved than I needed. She is beautiful and calm and pleasant company but she does not initiate interaction often and is content to be in the same room without making contact. She is not unfriendly but she is quite self-sufficient. A better fit for someone who enjoys a more independent companion.
